Based in Arizona, Malcolm and Jenn came to me with a vision to create a modern and unique record store. A record store with a slick and sophisticated online presence that was also female-friendly — two gaps they noticed in this traditionally male-dominated market that had not as yet nailed the online shopping experience.

Often being the only female in line on Record Store Day, Jenn wanted to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where all genres of music are celebrated and where there are no guilty pleasures when it comes to music.

Big believers in shopping local, one key symbol they hoped to include in their record store logo and branding was a star to proudly acknowledge the state of Arizona where they live. We were able to incorporate this and create a bold, punchy yet modern brand for this independent record store which is getting rave reviews from customers worldwide.

“Designing a brand is hard. Thankfully, we didn’t have to do it without Kat. She’s an artist with incredible talent, who will do her homework before taking on your project in order to give you exactly what you’re asking for. She communicates well, explains her process, and is so generous with her creative ideas and insight to make your brand as beautiful as it can be. We lacked experience in working with a graphic designer, but Kat’s patience put us at absolute ease. We’re euphoric over the complete look of our brand and can’t wait to work with Kat again!”
